THE SYMBOLISM OF OUR NAME, OASIS OF SERENITY

OASIS:
An oasis is a fertile spot in a desert, where water is found. It symbolizes life, love, and domesticity. It is a place of refreshing and revitalizing after the suffering through the desert. The desert is symbolic of all the obstacles and hardships that stand between people and their dreams. It represents thirst, hunger and suffering.

SERENITY:
Serenity is the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. It is synonymous to calmness, composure, tranquillity, peace of mind, collectedness, imperturbability, sangfroid, equanimity, equableness and placidity.

Our overall vision and mission is to be that place to people who are going through the 'desert' of life, and who need healing and restoration in a hurting world.

SYMBOLISM OF THE BUTTERFLY:
Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Christians see the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope and life.

The metamorphosis of the butterfly represents the change from something ugly into something beautiful - a beautiful NEW BEGINNING.
